Movie Summary [Bad Romance]

Title: Bad Romance
Release Date: 2011
Language: Mandarin and French

English Subtitles: Yes

Cast:
(actor – character)
Hayden Leung – Cheng
Will Bay – Bass

François Chang –  François
Chan Chan – Yasmine
Macha Hsiao – Loulou

Nranus Chen – Xiaoya
Jason Lau – Cong

Basic Plot Summary:
There are 3 different stories of love told in this film…
– Single mother meets her friend’s younger cousin who is a university student.
– A young girl builds a relationship with a guy and girl from her French class.
– A young guy meets a man and falls head over heels in love with him.

My Thoughts:

May contain Spoilers!!!
And by ‘May’ I mean does!!!

I felt a little annoyed throughout the film, for me there was a lack of consistency with the filming: in regards to the single mother’s story (Xiaoya) it was really visual with the constant use of  flowers, the colours were very vivid and every scene seemed more intense whereas the other stories weren’t as detailed and seemed less visually interesting…I don’t really like “artsy” films especially if the ‘artsy-ness’ is inconsistent. But that’s just me.

The film took a while to get going, and if I’m being honest…I wasn’t totally impressed with it.
I found the ‘French class story’ really dull, but I did like the french…hehehe
For the record…the director and writer guy played François coincidentally they both have the same name! Stroke of luck! ehehe (jk jk, the director acts in this film, which isn’t common I dont think, so that’s good!)

The ‘gay story’ I’m sure is what you’re all here for. It was…okay,
In a nut shell, this adorable man (Bass) meets a guy that he met in a club 2 years ago (Cheng) the two get talking, Cheng already has a boyfriend but Bass gives his phone number anyway, they go out and flirt, Cheng’s boyfriend is an ass so Cheng asks if he can stay with Bass, he agrees but then changes his mind because he knows that Cheng only wants to stay with him to piss off his boyfriend.
Then Bass wakes up, opens to front door to see Cheng there with his packed bags, from then on Cheng abuses his kindness, his hospitality and his feelings.
From a perverted point of view: The sex scene between these two guys was wonderful!

Don’t get me wrong I didn’t hate the film! It’s just…I don’t really like this style of film..

Oh! This film contains 2…and a half sex scenes, younger viewers…proceed with caution… !
(Yes- there is only a half because we didn’t see anything…THAT intimate between Xiaoya and Cong!)

TO CONCLUDE: It’s not my type of film, I didn’t like all those flowers, the gay sex scene was fantastic, the French class story could have been waaaaay better and young viewers close your eyes during the sexy parts.

I rate this
3/10

Movie Summary [Fujimi Block 2 Symphony Orchestra]

Title: Fujimi Block 2 symphony orchestra: Cold Front Conductor
Release Date: 2012
Language: Japanese

English Subs? – Yes!

Cast:
(actor – character)
Yuuki Morimura -Shouta Takasaki
Kei Tounin – Yuusuke Arai
Natsuko Kawashima – Sayuri Iwata
Sexy policeman – Ryoma Baba

Basic Plot Summary:
Yuuki Morimura is the concert master and lead violinist of the Fujimi Block 2 symphony orchestra , a small orchestra that is in dire need of a conductor.
Kei Tounoin, a genuis and renound conductor joins the Fujimi Block 2 symphony orchestra and whips them into shape with his controversial methods, his demanding persona unsettles some of the members including Yuuki. After misunderstanding Yuuki’s attempts to leave the orchestra, causes Kei to “take drastic measures” creating even more friction between the two.

My Thoughts:
Warning!!!
This movie DOES in fact contain a rape scene….Which is really quite graphic :\
So…nudity (obviously)

May contain Spoilers!!!
And by ‘May’ I mean does!!!

Okay, I really liked this movie, but I was a little disappointed and angered with Kei and his  “methods” for attracting Yuuki, CLEARLY this guy has been reading waaay too much Yaoi Manga if he thinks that the way to an “uke”‘s heart is to force them into having sex with you.
Kei, as much as we don’t want it to be true, unfortunately situations in manga can almost never be applied to real life.

I found Yuuki’s infatuation for Kawashima to be a little annoying….I’m not sure if that’s because I wanted to see more (consensual!!!!) action between Yuuki and Kei, or if I just found it annoying.
I was probably more annoyed at the fact that Yuuki didn’t return Kei’s feelings, as I’ve said many many times I hate one sided loves, and this movie had 2 of them!!

Something else that I really liked about this movie was how…circular it was (does that make sense?!) It was so effective how it started with Kei joining the group and ended with showing why he joined…love it.

I read the manga….and a lot of it is very similar to the movie, so that’s good.
The only problem I found was the ‘rape scene’ and aftermath in the film was very different to the manga.
In the manga, Kawashima actually told Kei that Yuuki was gay…so Kei (I’m guessing) saw this as a green light to proceed with his…plans(?!)
I thought that that was a pretty key detail to miss out.

Can I just mention: RYOMA BABA.  He totally nailed the part as the (sexy) police officer and in my opinion he made the whole film. I’m happy.

On a superficial note: Yuuki looks soooooo much cuter without those glasses, anyone agree?!

This movie contains way too many conflicting emotions, but it was really good, I’d encourage you to watch it but, watch out for that rape scene, its not very nice to watch

Incredible acting though!!!

I’d rate it:
7/10

The drama has 12 ‘real life’ stories….it talks about homosexuality,  relationships with teachers, isolation, bullying, prostitution, incest and suicide….and other lovely topic

Anyways…. detailed guide of episode 13-14.
I’m only going to talk about the Xiao Lun/Da Dong storyline….sorry Du and Shen Qi
prepare for:

ULTIMATE SPOILERS!

Episode 13 –
Xiao Lun has always been bullied by Da Dong because of his feminine personality he is an easy target. Xiao Lun is amazing at nail painting! Da Dong is like some….high school gangsta(?) and the classmates have to pay him money…because of his grandmother is poor Xiao Lun is incapable of paying Da Dong a few times. Because Xiao Lun is such an adorably nice guy he paints the girls nails for free.
Because Xiao Lun cant pay Da Dong gets him to sweep the floors, while him and he friends smoke and play cards. Xiao Lun tried to tell one of the teachers….but the teacher did nothing, what a complete ass.
Xiao Lun gets bullied again in the guys toilets….but luckily Lu Zi come in and stands up to Da Dong, what a babe. Xiao Lun becomes interested in Lu Zi….until he finds out he actually has a girlfriend.
We get an insight into Da Dong’s life….he is always in the shadow of his awesome boxer brother, and he’s under pressure from the group he is part of…Da Dong is constantly trying to prove how tough he is.
One day after getting attacked by Da Dong, Xiao Lun runs to a room..where Du appeared and did her “Do you want to be a stone?!!!” thing….because Xiao Lun is such a sweetie he doesnt want to kill Da Dong even though Da Dong is so horrible to him.
The Head Instructor finds out what happened, and talks with Da Dong and Xiao Lun. Da Dong is lying about the whole thing…the head Instructure punches Da Dong.
Head Instructor  tells Xiao Lun to punch Da Dong, and he’ll pretend he didnt see… Xiao Lun said “Wh am i the one being punished when he’s the one who did wrong?!” Head Instructor (HI) was all like “Ehh…?! How is this a punishment?!” and told him is was practicing his manliness…..Xiao Lun punched him gently….causing Da Dong to laugh…so HI beat him instead.
The whole thing turned into a lecture about how weak Xiao Lun is….totally unfair i thought.
HI said Xiao Lun could leave….and the he proceeded to beat the crap out of Da Dong…until the teacher lady saves him….she’s the only one who has some sense!
Its Hong Ge’s birthday….(he’s the guy who used to take money from Xiao Lun before he left – the leader of the gang) and they are planning something big….

Episode 14 –
Da Dong is happy because Hong Ge said he sees him as his brother….and the next day he should meet them somewhere because they are going to “have some fun”
Basicalmente….Da Dong is going to pretend to be the cable guy….and Hong Ge’s guys are going to beat the crap out of some guy. The plan goes well…until the guys leave and the man gets up….starts chasing after Da Dong…and who does Da Dong run into? Xiao Lun!
Xiao Lun fixes him up and lends him he jacket as a bit of a disguise. Da Dong find the rock in the coat pocket….He returns them both to Xiao Lun.
On the day of the school anniversary, Xiao Lun and Da Dong perform together, much to the surprise of the Head Instructor and to the delight of the teacher lady(who gets 3 bouquets of flowers…..lucky lady!) Xiao Lun hugs Da Dong….it seems the two have sorted out their differences…
at the festival, Xiao Lun is forced into going into the haunted house …thing :L
Da Dong attacks Xiao Lun…and bite his neck….soon, the neck bite turns into a kiss.
Xiao Lun says “You’re the same as me….you’re gay”
Da Dong freaks out and starts beating Xiao Lun….he says he’ll make sure he never speaks and ends up strangling him….
Du shows up and has a chat with Da Dong.
Da Dong says he’d rather be a rock than people finding out he’s gay.
Xiao Lun is rushed to the hospital.
He’s been in a coma for 2 days. Da Dong goes to visit Xiao Lun…but he only waits outside. he then goes to the roof…and sees Xiao Lun’s grandmother, the Head Instructor and The teacher lady leave, and goes back to Xiao Lun.
Du is there and he find out that Xiao Lun wont die….he just wont wake up, because of Da Dong.
Because of Du, Da Dong realises that he’s a total dumbass for bullying Xiao Lun, because he did nothing wrong….and Da Dong is the worst person EVAAAR!!!
He begs Du to bring Xiao Lun back…he is willing to turn into a rock.
Xiao Lun’s grandmother returns and sees Da Dong crying over the situation….she says she doesnt blame him.
BAM!
Xiao Lun wakes up!!!
Da Dong….Xiao Lun and Shen Qi dig a hole and bury the rock! Adios Du!
Or…..not?

My Thoughts:

I’ve seen….episodes 1-6, 13 and 14.
I couldnt see the others….the player i was watching it on became unavailable 😦
I like the entire concept of the drama….a little depressing – the story lines are really realistic and…hell i just love this drama!

Also, can we just take a minute to appreciate the title
“Gloomy Salad Days”
I mean…how epic is that?!

But back to these episodes…. :
Xiao Lun is so cute
I think he’s great, if he were in my school i’d totally be friends with him, he’s so kind an loving, and it breaks my heart that Da Dong and the other guys were bullying him…well they were bullying everyone but especially Xiao Lun.
Da Dong was such ass though…less so towards the end. I mean I understand he’s going through some stuff, y’know being part of a violent, money obsessed gang and trying to live up to his super strong brother and projecting his anger through bullying…but NO  that is no excuse to act like a dick. But I liked him at the end when he was so upset about Xiao Lun he was sobbing at his bedside *sniff*

I liked how it subtly went from VAMPIRE NECK BITING!!! to casual make out time…loved it!
It could have been an amazing BL scene…..until Xiao Lun said “You’re the same as me” kinda….killed the moment. Da Dong – little bit of an overreaction I feel…
In my head I had an alternate ending where Xiao Lun and Da Dong actually got it on, it would have been full of BL goodness and no one would be put in a coma…Ah that would have been nice *fantasises*

But anyway, I liked it! I actually really like the concept of the whole drama, i just wish I could have seen more episodes
annnnd…I’m totally in love with Aaron Yan so….perhaps a little bit biased 😀

I rate 8/10

Movie Summary [Junjou – Pure Heart – ]

Title: Junjou ~ Pure Heart ~ / 純情
Release Date: 2010
Language: Japanese
Enligsh Subs? – Oh Yes!

Cast:(actor – character)
Rakuto Tochihara – Keisuke Tozaki
Yuta Takahashi – Shousei Kurata
Mitsuyoshi Shinoda – Miyata Kazuomi

Basic Plot Summary:
Keisuke Tozaki is a freelance writer who, by total chance meets his high school crush, Shousei Kurata.
After the two go out drinking, they end up in bed together…. is this just a one time thing? Or could it be more?

My Thoughts:

*~WARNING!!!~*
May contain Spoilers!!!
And by ‘May’ I mean does!!!

OMMMGGGG!i’ve been waiting forever to do this one! I totally love this movie!
Okay, I am a little bit biased….why?? Because I am completely in love with Rakuto Tochihara, ever since I saw him in RH Plus and One Missed Call 3…I’ve been a Tochihara Fangirl. It’s shameful, I know. But have you seen that man?! Ah he’s wonderful.

So you have been warned this part might not be 100% unbiased.

They are both really good actors! Really very talented. However, I think that they weren’t able to show off their talents in this film, which was a shame really. I hate to compare films, but I have seen a lot of BL films and to me the interactions between the two guys felt a little awkward. I did find the kiss between them – when Kurata invites himself to Tozaki’s place….well…it wasn’t the best kiss I’ve seen
…I think more practice is needed /winks/

Usually I really don’t like the guy/girl who gets in between the perfect couple, but i didn’t hate Kazuomi…he was pretty cool,  and you could tell that he really does care about Tozaki.
I mean, sure, I was screaming at him when he tried to kiss him but, hey, the guy likes him! And Tozaki stopped him, so….no harm done!

Speaking of Tozaki, he isn’t the usual weak uke that we see soooooo often in BL movies, I find that so refreshing! That makes me love this movie so much more!
Sure, he allows himself to get pushed around a bit by Kurata, but when he was accusing Tozaki of things he didn’t do…he totally yelled at Kurata and stormed off. I LOVED IT!!!

No one accuses Tozaki of doing things he didn’t do *sassy finger snap*

Although we do have the usual boys love element: Jealousy.
O where would we be without this fundamental element.
But all is good in the end, don’t worry!

Speaking of which, the ending was so lovely. The role reversal: with Kurata waiting for Tozaki….that was pure perfection!

Another thing….That little happy giggle Tozaki did when Kurata sent him that text WAS FREAKING ADORABLE!!! And the love bite thing… Oh god I was fighting off a nosebleed.

Okay, I think I’m done with pointing out the good parts. But I really loved this film!!!
Ah….i just….i cant say anything else ❤

I rate this movie

10/10

why?
Because it’s super cute and its actually nearly 85% accurate to the manga – usually when there is a film remake of a manga they either change it completely or cut out the important parts…yeah yeah I know some parts are different but the original storyline is there!

[Oh and i love Rakuto Tochihara.]

If you haven’t seen this movie yet…What are you waiting for?! GO! WATCH IT NOW!
And leave a comment telling me (and everyone else) what you thought!

Movie Summary [A Frozen Flower]

Title: A Frozen Flower / 쌍화점
Release Date: 2008
Language: Korean
English Subs? – Yes

Cast:
(actor – character)
Zo In Sung – Hong Lim
Ju Jin-mo – The King
Song Ji-hyo – The Queen

Basic Plot Summary:
The king’s palace guard is made up of 36 young soldiers, trained since they were very young. Their commander, Hong Lim has always had a close relationship with the King.
The King is married to a princess, and they have no children.
As they get older the King is pressured into producing a successor to the throne.
Because the King is unable to have sex with the Queen….he orders Hong Lim to have sex with her and produce his child.
However…their relationship does not just stop with sex…a passionate love blooms between the Queen and Hong Lim.
Creating a completely complex love triangle….

My thoughts:

*~WARNING!!!~*
May contain Spoilers!!!

And by ‘May’ I mean does!!!

Now i’ve said this many time before: I hate love triangles…they ruin a perfectly good relationship…but honestly….I don’t hate anyone in this movie!
Shocking. I know!
I feel sorry for each of the 3 characters in a way….and I’m going to tell you why…

Hong Lim…the poor guy, he had no idea what he was doing most of the time. Ever since he was young the King had shown him nothing but love and kindness and then he asks him to go have sex with the Queen….surely you can see how that could be confusing!?
He cant help falling in love with the Queen

I feel sorry for the Queen because this poor woman just wants to be loved by someone…Unfortunately her husband cant love her the way she wants him to… Naturally you’d fall in love with the man who shows some sort of affection for you,

And the King….you cant imagine how hard it must have been for him to ask his lover to have sex with his wife, but he did it for his kingdom..and i get that. Its completely understandable that he felt betrayed by Hong Lim when he finds out they are actually having a relationship.
Although i do feel the castrating him was a bit far…

On a slightly different note….Everyone’s hair looked fabulous! I loved it!

Overall it was a really good movie ^^
The sex scene between the King and Hong Lim was lovely, probably the most passionate scene I’ve ever seen in a BL movie ❤

I rate:
8/10

Movie Summary [Ren Ai Shindan – Unmei no Kodou]

Title: Ren Ai Shindan – Unmei no Kodou /  恋愛診断 : 運命のコドウ / Love Diognosis: Throb of fate
Release Date: 2007
Language: Japanese
English Subs? – Yep..and chinese subs too~

Cast:
(actor – character)
Ryunosuke Kawai – Kei Katsuragi
Kohei Kumai  – Kanade Maki
Eiji Moriyama – Dr. Kugura
Katsunobu Ito – The Director.

Basic Plot Summary:

Doctor Kei nearly drowned in a pool until lifeguard Kanade saved him.  Shortly after Kanade is diagnosed with a terminal heart disease.

After an incident occurred at the hospital, Kei took responsibility. Mr Director threatened Kei that he wouldn’t accept Kanade if they were seeing each other. So Kei ended it with Kanade….but love finds a way 🙂

My Thoughts:

*~WARNING!!!~*
May contain Spoilers!!!
And by ‘May’ I mean does!!!

Death….its so annoying.

Kei and Kanade are so sweet together, why did this have to happen!?
Kohei Kumai is adorable..even if that is such a 90’s haircut hehe.
I hate the Director …I can’t even begin to describe how much I hate the director guy.

If someone is about to hit you with their car, do you fall down in the middle of the road and watch it happen?! Of course!! That part made me laugh…I know it shouldn’t, but it did.

Awww its just so cute! The romantic foodtime and then the kissing, completely adorable!

Ryunosuke Kawai is everywhere in BL movies….there’s no escape from him! He was also in ‘Ai No Kotodama 2’ and ‘Itsuka no kimi e’ and now this, this guy is taking over the BL film industry?! My theory is, if you act in a BL movie once….you have a 70% chance of doing it again ^^
(Do you hear that Rakuto Tochihara & Ryoma Baba!?!!)

Anyways, back to the actual movie…..
When Kanade collapsed on the beach…the look in Kei’s eyes. At this moment it was as if someone had reached into my chest and pulled out my heart.

Someone could have warned me that it gets very sad very quickly, I was not prepared for this!
Kei has so much faith that Kanade will get better…It’s just too sad, I cant take it any more!

That was the worst movie I’ve ever seen

Not in terms of quality!!! God no! it was very good!~ But in terms of being on an emotional rollercoaster…I hate feeling sad, and this film was so heartbreaking 😦 BL films need to stop having main characters die or become disabled, I’m done with the tragic trope.

But, it did all work out alright-ish….I mean they both were nearing death…so…yeah…
-just trying to find the silver lining to this metaphorical cloud-

*cries*

I rate it.

Movie Summary [ Ren Ai Shindan – Tsubasa no Kakera]

Title:  Ren Ai Shindan :Tsubasa no Kakera / 恋愛診断: 翼のカケラ / Love Diognosis: Shattered Wings
Release Date: 2007
Language: Japanese
English Subs available? – Yes  (also Chinese subs)

Cast:
(actor – character)
Tomo Yanagishita – Tsubasa
Airu Shirozaki – Ryou (Leo?)
Juri – Kain

Basic Plot Summary:
Tsubasa’s stepfather had just killed himself, which was something Tsubasa blamed himself for.
Then one day Tsubasa had a run in with 3 boys who mocked and bullied him about him and his stepfather…Ryou witnessed it all but never helped. After the incident, Tsubasa ran to school to clean himself, he checked other rooms, but they were all locked, until he found a free room…or at least he thought it was free… But Kain was there, he tried to console Tsubasa…immediately Tsubasa started to develop feelings for Kain….

Tsubasa meets Ryou again and again resulting in a complex love triangle….wonderful -.-”

My Thoughts:

*~WARNING!!!~*
May contain Spoilers!!!
And by ‘May’ I mean does!!!
Love triangles: we meet again.
I hate love triangles.
The characters in this were very….strange….Especially Ryou and Kain. Tsubasa, not so much, he was just very…flat, a little weak and kind of had that “I’m the victim” attitude about him, at least, I thought so.
Kain was lovely…to start. Then he turned into quite an asshole. At the end I found myself hating him.

Ryou has an attitude that kinda bugged me for the first 3/4 of the movie. But then as we started to understand what was going on, we realised he wasn’t such a bastard after all.

I really liked the relationship Tsubasa and Ryou had…it was lovely…DAMN YOU KAIN
Anyway… Kain is horrible…that’s all you need to know. Don’t get sucked in by his charm and good looks!

Oh….The guy who plays Tsubasa played Takumi in the first movie….TOTALLY DIDNT REALISED UNTIL WHEN I WAS WRITING OUT THE CAST!!!!! holy crap! I need an award for being so incredibly (un)observant! -.-”

Okay, is it Leo or Ryou? In the movie he was called both Ryou and Leo, I don’t care too much, he’ll always be Ryou in my head.
Also, wasn’t that pottery scene, PRETTY MUCH THE SAME as the pottery scene in the movie Ghost?! (you know….with Patrick Swayze and…Demi Moore!?)

Ryou, you’re so stupid, trying to light a cigarette when you’re in the shower. I probably shouldn’t have found that as funny as I did.

What’s with the feather symbolism?
Anyway…!

I’m kinda in two minds about this film. I didn’t NOT like it….but i didn’t exactly like it either….such a helpful conclusion.
But: I rate it….
6/10

My Thoughts:

Well….this movie was….good !
It annoys me when both people don’t feel the same thing, I HATE one sided loves….so for example in this one, Lan Yu was falling in love with Chen…but Chen was acting like a dumbass and avoiding his feelings…annoying!

But the story is nice, a little bit…repetitive…well, I thought so anyway.
No honestly, I don’t have anything REALLY bad to say..i just didn’t like it, I cant seem to justify why I didn’t like it, I just didn’t 🙂

My thoughts :

I really liked this movie, its a shame its only 30 minutes long.
Okay, first things first….that song at the begininng….what?!?! lol

Seoki is so adorable on the bus! The relationship between Seoki and Minsu is so beautiful!!!
I really don’t like the whole “Mother finds out about gay love, will she hate you forever?” Storyline….but this one, I can deal with
I think the worst thing….was when the mother saw them, and just…stood there with that look on her face and then left. Psychological torture.

Ahh my god when that girl is upset about her lover being gay…and tells Seoki and he’s all like “I could tell….how did you not know?!!” Wow Seoki, way to be sensitive!

– I laughed a little when that jesus figure smiled  –

Minsu and Seoki FOREVER!!
The ending….Noooo!!! They have to go through all of it again….lol

Not gonna lie…when I saw the DVD cover I immediately thought they were holding his stomach…like he was pregnant, It wasn’t until i stared at it for a while did I realise they were unbuttoning the shirt

I really recommend this movie….sure its really short, but its so cute.

It was alright. Totally weird at times.
The older lawyer guy was a bit too creepy for my liking. It annoyed me when his friend rejected him…and acted cold towards him afterwards. Eric has had a pretty crappy time…Its like this poor guy can never win!

I thought the relationship with Cheng was so lovely…I’m really annoyed that never worked out. The tit was only using him to get over the boarder. And what’s up with his parents?! Jeeeeez, his dad….seriously?!
But seriously though, Eric and Cheng were so sweeeeet 😦

This type of film isn’t really for me, I don’t like being left frustrated. And my god I was frustrated!~
Damnit Cheng! Why did you have to leave ?!T.T

I rate:
2/10
