And by ‘May’ I mean does!!!

Wow….this movie is intense. So intense….
It took me a while to work out which characters were which, but I eventually got it.

Okay just a few things:
The movie isnt exactly what I would call a Boys Love Movie, in fact….its not really
Its only here because shows the closeness between the boys and it was recommended to me 🙂

Quote: ” even though there is heavy homoerotic tension between the characters, Royston Tan (the director) says that the boys whose lives he portrayed do not identify as gay.”

This movie does show a lot of shocking images, (It is rated 18 so….yeah ) such as self harming, moderate violence and drug trafficking. Most of these images are graphic, so just to warn you!

I think the character that I liked the most was Shaun. he was pretty cool. His dad was a total ass though, even though we only saw his arm….
Vynn was alright too.
I didnt like Armani, he was a bit …much

Just to say I don’t really want to get into a whole thing, i know that this film was created to give an accurate description on gang life in Singapore and I believe the ‘characters’ are real people and I believe this film to be only semi documentary semi drama.
(but I don’t know this for sure)

Its a very intense movie!!!! I know I’ve said that before!

This might be a bit far, but it reminded me of the movie “Requiem for a Dream” because it shows the things that no one really wants to talk about or even acknowledge, such as drug use, violence and prostitution.

This type of film really isn’t my cup of tea. I like films which touch on serious topics but gang related films just…I don’t like it.

For BL quality only
*even though this isnt a bl movie….*
2/10

And by ‘May’ I mean does!!!

I liked it.. I mean attractive guys dressing up as girls, What’s not to like?!

Also I was a little disappointed about the lack of Boys Love content though, it was only overtones *sigh* I should have read the small print, eh?!

I haven’t seen the anime yet or read the Manga, but apparently the live drama added the relationship between Mikoto and Otoya. Mikoto had a girlfriend in the anime and the manga !

I loved seeing familiar faces though!
Takumi Saito – the one and only Ray Fujita ❤ – the incredibly attractive guy from RH Plus (Closely following Rakuto Tochihara, of course xD)
And KENTA KAMAKARI!! From the awesome J-Rock band Cocoa Otoko!! ( Which is a band I really really like and am completely heartbroken that they have disbanded -.-” – But i digress….)

When Shuuya does his thinking poses…i love it ! The synchronised swimming team is my favourite. They are so weird… to be honest, this whole drama is weird.

I have reason to believe there is around 30 people in the whole school and they all wander around in groups of 3’s… even at the Princess Event thing that Otoya crashed, there was only 15 people hanging around

Something that kinda annoyed/confused me was: I’m pretty certain in the precredits…y’know when MidnightPumpkin’s song VEGA was playing….there was a kiss…I swear in the whole drama there was not ONE SINGLE KISS!!! I demand to know where this kiss went?!!!!  Was i just not looking???? Was it not there????

Movie Summary [The Love Of Siam]

Title: The Love Of Siam
Release Date: 2007
Language: Thai
English Subs? – Yes.

Cast:
(actor – character)
Witwisit Hiranyawongkul – Mew
Mario Maurer – Tong
Kanya Rattanapetch – Ying
Aticha Pongsilpipat- Donut
Chermarn Boonyasak – Tang/June
Sinjai Plengpanich – Sunee
Songsit Rungnopakunsri – Korn

Basic Plot Summary

Mew had to live with his grandmother because his father had moved away, at first he was reluctant to stay…but he learns to deal with it, and he’s actually quite happy where he is.
One day in school, Mew is washing up a painting pallet in the boy toilets, when he’s attacked by some of his classmates. Tong happened to be around and saved him, getting beaten up himself.
From then on Tong and Mew became really close friends.
One day Tong’s sister Tang goes on vacation with some friends….and she never comes back. Tong’s Mother, Sunee accepts that Tang wont return…but his father, Korn hasn’t. Tong’s family decide to move away. Korn has been drinking a lot, and is getting a little depressed.
A few years later, Mew is in a band as the songwriter and singer. The band’s manager hires a young woman to help August Band, who happens to look a lot like June.
The two old friends meet again as Tong was trying to buy their sold out album. They realise how much they’ve missed each other and start seeing more of each other.

This story is about unrequited, young love, family drama and tragedy

My Thoughts:

*~WARNING!!!~*
May contain Spoilers!!!
And by ‘May’ I mean does!!!

Its a really cute story, I love Mew and Tong’s friendship/relationship.
I loved how they both realised that they cared very much for one another, and no one was disgusted or angry or whatever!! For the first time ever in a BL movie!!!
I really hate stupid mothers who ruin perfectly adorable relationships!!! Sunee you suck!! But at the end she was alright and actually really lovely.

I really like Ying as a character, i think she’s is completely insane!
She kinda reminded me of myself….maybe that’s why i like her….

I’m so glad non of the characters actually started dating her, that…was such a relief! Although Tong’s girlfriend/ex-girlfriend was little irritating.

What really sucks, is that we never find out is June is actually Tang!!!
But i think she is

OH MY GOD, I died when Tong said “I cant be with you as your boyfriend….but that doesn’t mean i don’t love you”
AND HE GIVES HIM THE NOSE TO THAT TOY THING HE GAVE MEW WHEN THEY WERE KIDS!!!!!!
Even though that was a really disappointing outcome, IT WAS SO ADORABLE!!!!!

Its a really lovely story!
But the BL-ness takes a while to get going, watch it for the film not for what you hope to happen 🙂

I rate:
7/10

Also…Thai is such an awesome language!!!
I think that Mew when he was younger was so adorable! ^~^
anyway…..

Movie Summary [Sukitomo]

Title: Suki tomo / スキトモ
Release Date: 2007
Language: Japanese
English Subs? – Yep

Cast:
(actor – character)
Takumi Saito – Tomokazu Aoi
Hiroki Aiba – Yoshiki Saitou
Airi Komatsu – Misao Aoi

Basic Plot Summary:
Ooookay…
Tomokazu is a college boxer, in his final year in University, his bestfriend Yoshiki and his step-sister have always been supporting him. Little does he know both his friend and his sister have been harbouring secret feelings for him. Misao realises Yoshiki’s feelings and becomes jealous, believe he’s trying to steal her beloved brother from her.

One day, while Tomokazu is training for his big competition, Yoshiki, Misao, Misao’s friend and Yoshiki’s classmate visit… Tomokazu finds out exactly what everyone thinks of him.

My Thoughts:

*~WARNING!!!~*
May contain Spoilers!!!
And by ‘May’ I mean does!!!

Throughout the entire movie I was sat there trying to work out where I’d seen the guy who plays Yoshiki…at first I thought it might just be a friends that he looks like….THEN IT HIT ME!!!!
He’s the violinist that Takumi admires in Takumi-kun 1 – Shoshite, Harukaze ni Sasayaite!! Woo!

Anyways:
Now, I reaaaaally dont like one-sided love, I’ve said this countless times. But I could deal with this one…kinda. I was really hoping for Tomokazu to just….kiss Yoshiki. But that never happened! The only REASONABLY close piece of BL stuff that we got….was when Tomokazu knocked Yoshiki down and was on top of him, and I just found that a little bit awkward ehehe

So this is a VERY LIGHT Boys Love movie…in fact, the BL is so light….it might not exist at all
The movie was alright…as far as things go. I didn’t like the Misao character, honestly, sister loving the brother….it was a little weird. Especially at the beginning, when we had no idea WHATSOEVER that they are actually step brother and sister. The fact that they aren’t related makes everything…a little bit better. But still, I find it a bit strange.

Can we just take note of how attractive Takumi Saito is…!
He must have had to get into amazing shape for this movie…because all that running, and boxing is just….wow
Hiroki Aiba is really cute and has a fabulous jaw line.
With 2 lovely actors, it’s a shame nothing went down…ah well. The story was good, I liked how Yoshiki is always there for Tomokazu.

But despite all that, we are a Boys Love film blog, and even though the storyline was nice and the actors were fabulous…

I rate this movie:
3.5/10
Don’t get me wrong it was a good film…but on this love we favour BL quality and quantity – which this film really lacked

o.5 for Takumi Saito being hot, and Hiroki Aiba being in Takumi Kun movie
They deserve the credit…I’m sorry!

Umm, just quickly:
I’m unsure of the correct English title but….
Suki = to like
Tomo = makes it certain
So, going by this…I believe the movie to be called “Of course I like you” or ‘It’s certain that I like you” or my personal favourite “I like you..duh!”
….oh I don’t know!!~!

Avaliable on YT!
